Which rate we use
We use the European Central Bank reference rate, published every business day around 16:00 CET. It is the mid-market rate with no markup. Banks, exchange offices and card networks add a spread (often 1% to 5%), so what you pay will be a bit higher.
If you already know the rate your bank charges, type it in the Exchange rate field to see the exact amount.
Example
With EUR/USD at 1.08, 100 US dollars buy about 92.59 euros at the reference rate. A card with a 3% foreign transaction fee would charge you about $103 for the same 92.59 euros.
